Hidden in between the big names. Moët to the right, Moët to the left, but right in between the these two buildings, A vintage mansion, between the modern giants, La Maison Belle Epoque, the home of the champagne house of Perrier-Jouët. The house established back in 1811 dates back to a romantic love story of the Épernay based cork producer, Mr. Perrier, and his wife, the daughter of a regional Calvados producer (Apple & Pear Brandy) Mrs. Jouët. The two got married in 1810 and established Perrier - Jouët. They seemed to make the perfect couple. Rose Adélaide Jouët, raised in the beverage production industry, focused on the wine making to this extraordinary champagne, while Pierre Nicolas Perrier used his relations and connections from his cork business to take care of sales and marketing. The perfect combination and perhaps the reason why still today Perrier - Jouët is regarded as one of the worlds finest champagne.
Later directors of the Perrier - Jouët house, Henri and Octave Gallice were big art lovers, in particular the "Belle Epoque" , which of course later had immense impact on this winery, dedicating its prestige brand, Belle Epoque to this. To incorporate the art of this epoque, each bottle of Perrier - Jouët Belle Epoque is a hand painted piece of art. The Belle Epoque, or in English, the Beautiful (time) period, took place in France from 1880 to 1914. It has characteristics of several aspects, such as peace, economic prosperity, optimism, science, technology, cultural innovation and economic prosperity, a bond of nature and art . Much French art during that time period was dedicated to just that and it, including Perrier - Jouët Belle Epoque. In addition to the this prestige wine and its hand painted bottles, a design was created by Emile Gallé for the Maison Perrier-Jouët. Maison Perrier-Jouët once was the home of directors, but is now open to the public and home to Europe’s largest private collection of French Art Nouveau.

Only the finest grapes, composed of 45% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir and 5% Meunier, of which 11% are Pinot Noir red wine, making this champagne a rose. This is a Brut Champagne, meaning it is relatively dry with 8 grams of sugar per liter. A Champagne is considered "Brut" when its sugar levels are in the range of 6 - 12 grams per liter of wine. A champagne is considered sweet either as a Demi-Sec (half sweet) in the range of 32 - 50 grams per liter, or Doux (very sweet) when its sugar content is above 50 grams per liter. An extraordinary cuvee, needing 10 years of aging before ready for consumption. Most sparkling/white/rose wines would be long over-mature by the age of 10, yet this Perrier - Jouët Belle Epoque Rose is only now ready to be enjoyed. Most sparkling, Non-Vintage wines are expected to be drank withing three years of being sold, yet this Perrier - Jouët Belle Epoque Rose has a window of 12 additional years to be enjoyed. This wine can either be enjoyed starting in 2020, right now, or age a bit longer in the cellar, bringing the joy to any owner lucky enough be to able to get a bottle by being looked at like a museum piece all the way until 2032, the last year of recommended consumption before decrease of wine quality.

Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Rosé champagne is the House’s deliciously unexpected interpretation of the category. A rare and precious vintage rosé champagne whose demure, pale apricot hue belies its extravagantly sensual personality, which is characterised by alluring notes of white flowers and small red fruit.
AN UNCONVENTIONAL ROSÉ The richness of Pinot Noir is complemented by the floral elegance of Chardonnay, which provides the touch of finesse characteristic of Maison Perrier-Jouët. Finally, Pinot Meunier grapes from Dizy contribute their rounded, aromatic character. The pale apricot bloom so distinctive of Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Rosé is created by the addition of a small proportion (11%) of Pinot Noir red wines. These wines are produced by macerating the white juice of Pinot Noir grapes on their red skins.
